International Builders' Show Runs Through Thursday

The National Association of Home Builders’ International Builders’ Show is in full swing at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

While sessions and exhibits began yesterday, the bulk of the show—including tours and master sessions—takes place throughout the day today and tomorrow.

Opportunities of note include:

Tours

  • The New American Home & The New American Remodel 2018—This tour showcases the latest in design trends, product innovations, smart home technology and green building techniques at the official show homes of IBS 2018: The New American Home (a modern “Tuscan” style, the home features a floor plan with two levels, each designed to have a unique identity) and the New American Remodel (a 1930s home that has been transformed using today’s products and building techniques).
  • 55+ Housing Community Tour—Two communities are planned for this tour, including a community that is planned to have 533 single-family homes for buyers 55 and older and another that features a 20,000-square-foot lakefront clubhouse.
  • Custom Home Tour—This tour aims to show the latest design trends and techniques that custom builders are advancing in.
  • Green Home Tour— These homes will showcase the latest sustainable design trends and high-performance building techniques that builders are using.

Master Sessions

  • #Visions: 10 Innovations That Sell More Homes—This session aims to show research into trends including generational divides and wants, technology and the smart home, color palettes, design strategies, fit and finishes, space evolution and interior design statements.
  • Advanced Strategies to Attract and Convert More Online Leads—This session will illustrate how to create an advanced, industry-leading marketing system to attract, capture and nurture leads to accelerate sales.

Clinics

  • Deck It: Outdoor Spaces Begin with the Deck;
  • The Basement Is a Space for Living;
  • Beyond the Deck: Carpentry-Based Landscape Projects; and
  • Making the Most of the Irregular Room.

In addition to opening ceremonies keynote speaker Super Bowl champion Terry Bradshaw, other speakers include entrepreneur and star of ABC’s “Shark Tank,” Daymond John, who will be doing a Q&A during the NAHB Meeting of Members to kick off today’s leg of the conference.
