An electrician working on a new arena in Milwaukee died late last week after falling off a ladder at the site.

Reports say that Peter Rohmann, 57, of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, had been complaining of chest pains to his fellow co-workers throughout the day on Wednesday (Oct. 25), but continued to work.

An electrician working on a new arena in Milwaukee died late last week after falling off a ladder at the site.

At around 1 p.m. officials were called to the scene after Rohmann, who worked for the National Electrical Contractors Association, fell 8 feet from a ladder. He died at Froedtert Hospital a few days later.

An autopsy performed on Monday listed the official cause of death as an accident. Although the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified of the incident, online records show that an investigation has not been opened.

The Project

The new stadium broke ground in 2016 and has been under the microscope with an aggressive timeline—it’s on track to be ready for the National Basketball League’s 2018-19 season, as the arena will the new home of the Milwaukee Bucks.

The firm in charge, Mortenson Construction, is taking the lead on the $525 million, 714,000-square-foot space, in addition to a new stadium in Las Vegas, which will house the relocated Raiders of the National Football League, which also has an aggressive timeline.
