The application period is now open for the 2018-19 Architects Foundation Diversity Advancement Scholarship program, backed by the Benjamin Moore & Co. Foundation, in partnership with The Architects Foundation.

Those encouraged to apply are high school seniors planning to attend school for architecture and first-year college students currently enrolled in a NAAB-accredited architecture program. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and will be required to provide two examples of their creative work, high school transcripts, a personal essay, two letters of recommendation and other required materials.

The scholarship awards up to $20,000 for up to five years of undergraduate study, and this year, the top two students will be awarded $5,000 each per year for up to five years, and will have the opportunity to attend the 2018 AIA Conference on Architecture in New York City next summer.

“It is because of the Benjamin Moore & Co. Foundation’s generosity that we are able to increase the awards for our top two scholarship candidates,” said Architects Foundation Executive Director Marci Reed, CFRE, MPA. “We are grateful for Benjamin Moore & Co. Foundation’s commitment not only to funding these students but also providing them access to the profession’s largest annual networking and educational event."

“The Benjamin Moore & Co. Foundation is proud to continue its partnership with the American Institute of Architects Foundation and once again fund the Diversity Advancement Scholarship program for the third consecutive year,” said Mike Searles, CEO of Benjamin Moore & Co. and Chairman of Benjamin Moore & Co. Foundation.

“We are committed to providing students of interior design and architecture the opportunity to advance in their studies and encourage qualified candidates to pursue a scholarship through this program.”

The deadline to apply is Jan. 17, 2018, and winners will be notified in April.
