German company Hammelmann recently introduced its SP 3200 E  Ergoflex system that the company says has added safety and increased flexibility, making ergonomic work possible even in unfavorable operations.

“In this new blasting gun concept the high-pressure hose is ‘encapsulated’ in a central guide tube. There is no danger to the operator from leakages at connections or fittings,” the company says.

The addition of more body support increases safety, the company notes, adding that the hose is assembled with bearings allowing it to swivel in the guide tube, and no swivel connection is required between the gun and high-pressure hose.

The Ergoflex’s max operating pressure is 3200 bar (46,412 psi) and has a max flow rate of 30 liters per minute.

Waterblasting Technologies (Stuart, Florida) recently released the Ground Hog – HT1000SR, a system it bills as a self-rotating, 40,000-psi, walk-behind blasting head.

The system is complete with a self-rotating bar with speed control and a hydraulic needle valve that precisely controls the rpm.

The company adds that its “vacuum recovery makes it easy to see your work maximizing productivity and minimizing negative impact to the surface.”

The company also notes that the spray angle eliminates vibration risks that are typically associated with self-rotating machines.
