A high-performance coating systems manufacturer has developed a new polyurea system for a variety of industry surfaces.

The product can be directly spray-applied to metal, concrete, wood, fiberglass and geotextiles, and Polyset adds that the system can withstand heavy foot traffic, exhibiting abrasion and impact resistance as well a chemical resistance.

The Ply-Guard UR system products include:

  • Fast Set, which has a durable, seamless, monolithic waterproof membrane that allows for use in the mining, gas and oil, military and storage tanks industries;
  • Potable Water, which is a system specifically formulated for potable water applications meeting NSF\ANSI 61, the company says, making it suitable for potable water management, water features and wastewater industries;
  • Aluminized, which contains UV stabilizers and leafing aluminum pigment, formulated for commercial and industrial roofing applications industries; and
  • Joint Filler, self-leveling and formulated to protect industrial concrete floor joints from spalling under heavy machinery, and thereby useful in the parking decks industry, the company notes.

Hi friends, more than a comment is a question. Can the Ply-Guard UR be applied where chemical resistance is required? I mean in the Mining industry where Sulfuric Acid processes are aggressive, and where solutions with low pH are processed in big thickeners and flotation cells. Thanks and regards Eric Schomburgk

Hi Eric, Ply-Guard UR does have some chemical resistance, but we offer various versions for use in these applications.
