IMCD’s coatings-industry offerings include additives, fillers, pigments, resins and specialty solvents.

The deal—the financial terms of which were not disclosed—is expected to close in early July, according to IMCD. The company says Bossco President Edward Boss will become a senior member of the IMCD management team.

About the Companies

Bossco, founded in 1989, reported revenues of $11 million last year. The firm’s businesses include CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers) and graphic arts/inks; specialty chemicals; and plastics and rubber.

IMCD reported revenues of 1.7 billion euros (about $1.78 billion) in 2016. The global company’s business units are: detergents; pharma; personal care; coatings; food and nutrition; lubricants; synthesis; plastics; and other industries.

IMCD’s coatings-industry offerings include additives, fillers, pigments, resins and specialty solvents.

Complementary Strengths

“The acquisition of Bossco Industries will further strengthen IMCD US and our ability to offer national coverage to our principal partners,” said John Mastrantoni, president of IMCD US.

“IMCD shares our vision of offering technical solutions to our customers and a transparent, growth-focused partnership with our principal partners,” added Bossco’s Boss.
