New Additive Made for Powder Coatings

Specialty chemicals company Clariant (Muttenz, Switzerland) has unveiled a new additive made for the tribological enhancement of electrostatic powder coatings.

AddWorks IBC 251 is a new “tribo enhancing” additive that works with a broad range of resins in powder-coating applications.

AddWorks IBC 251 is a new “tribo enhancing” additive that works with a broad range of resins in powder-coating applications, according to Clariant. It is compatible with polyesters and polyester/epoxy binders, among others, the company notes.

Protection from Heat, Light

Clariant says the new additive features a high electrostatic charge loading capacity, and offers protection against heat and light. The additive is non-staining, according to the company.

Clariant says AddWorks IBC 251 can be used as an “all-in-one solution” in operations where multiple formulations using different resins are being produced.
