The Air Barrier Association of America educated and honored industry professionals this week at its sixth annual conference (April 18-20) in Reston, Virginia.

The three-day long program was complete with keynote speakers, training sessions and three comprehensive learning tracks tailored to different facets of professionals in the industry (contractor sessions, design professionals training, and testing, analysis and quality assurance).

“Air barriers are critical to building success,” the association said in an announcement on the conference program earlier this year. “Without a modern understanding of air and moisture management, a flood of energy loss, repairs, and reputation are at risk.”

The three-day long program was complete with keynote speakers, training sessions and three comprehensive learning tracks tailored to different facets of professionals in the industry.

The keynote speaker was principal of Building Science Corporation, Joe Lstiburek, who hosted a three-hour session on building science and airflow in buildings.

Training sessions included instruction on sprayed polyurethane foam installer certification, self-adhered and flued applied installer certification, field auditor training and a quality assurance program administrator.

The Association says that the programs were geared toward all levels of professionals, “whether you are looking to upgrade your skills, or searching for a new career.” All the courses at this year’s conference were full, according to the website.
