Chemical company BASF Corp. (Ludwigshafen, Germany) has announced a new president for its Coatings division (Münster, Germany). Dirk Bremm, who has spent nearly two decades with BASF, was appointed to the position on April 1.
Bremm succeeded Markus Kamieth, who had led the company's Coatings division since 2012. Kamieth has been appointed to the BASK SE Board of Executive Directors.
About Bremm
Bremm joined BASF in 2000 in Ludwigshafen, Germany and moved up the ranks throughout the years holding various positions, including vice president of BASF Coatings Solutions Mexico and vice president of Construction Chemicals Retail Europe.

Most recently, however, in 2013 he was appointed senior vice president of Construction Chemicals Americas.
Bremm studied business management at the University of Trier, in Germany; Dublin City University, in Ireland; and ITSEM, in Mexico. He earned his master’s in business administration at the Leipzig Graduate School of Management in Germany.
About the Coatings Division
The BASF Coatings division has a network of global sites in Europe, North America, South America and Asia Pacific. The division develops, produces and markets decorative paints, industrial coatings sustainable automotive OEM and refinish coatings.
Most recently, in 2016, the division achieved global sales of $3.4 billion and acquired Chemetall, a global supplier of applied surface treatments for metal, plastic and glass substrates.
