One week after announcing their intent to merge, Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services and Safway Group have announced that current Safway chief executive Bill Hayes will be president and CEO of the new combined entity.
Brand and Safway also revealed that current Brand chairman and CEO Paul Wood will become senior adviser and chairman emeritus of the new company.
Headquarters in Georgia
The new headquarters of the combined firm will be in Atlanta, the companies said. Brand’s current home base is in Kennesaw, Georgia, in the Atlanta metro area. The company plans to maintain a presence in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where Safway is headquartered now.

Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services and Safway Group have announced that Bill Hayes will be president and CEO of the new firm that combines the two companies.

Hayes joined Safway as president and COO in February 2012, after holding the position of president at Honeywell Safety Products. He became CEO later that same year, succeeding Marc Wilson.
“The opportunity that lies ahead for the combined Brand and Safway businesses is tremendous, and the chance to lead this next chapter is humbling and incredibly exciting,” said Hayes. “I share Paul’s safety-first mindset, starting with top leaders, and his focus on service quality and the flawless execution that our customers need from us. Their success will continue to drive our business.”
“I look forward to working closely with Bill during the transition and continuing to support the combined company’s commitment to deliver value to customers and rewarding career opportunities to our employees,” added Wood.
Close Expected This Year
The two companies expect the deal to close in the third quarter of 2017. Financial terms have not been disclosed, but the companies say they expect the combined business to have annual sales of about $5 billion.
