In addition to manufacturing facilities, the floor coating is recommended for use in showrooms and restrooms.

The coating has a working time of 15 to 20 minutes, according to the manufacturer, which allows for specification for larger flooring projects without concern it would set too quickly. The GP4850 also has a broad recoat window of six to 36 hours, the Cleveland-based coatings maker says.

Additional features include improved flow and leveling characteristics, chemical resistance, mechanical strength, low-temperature curing and UV stability, the company says.

In addition, the system has greater than 90 percent volume solids and has less than 10 g/l VOC, according to Danica Zeise, product manager Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings.

The coating may be squeegee or roll-applied directly to concrete substrates and is available in clear or standard packaged colors.

Applications and Uses

The product can be used as both a solid or decorative finish in a variety of areas including, hallways/corridors, restrooms, locker rooms, food and beverage facilities, showrooms, aircraft hangars, as well as pharmaceutical processing areas, the company notes.

The product is also recommended for use in the healthcare market and general industrial and commercial infrastructure markets, Sherwin-Williams says.
