The lightweight instrument has a new sponge system and wand connector, and now uses six AA batteries and advance circuitry to produce 67.5 volts, the company says. Featuring on-board calibration verification, the M-1 can be checked in the field with no other test apparatus needed, it adds.
An LED light on the front panel provides a visual indication when the unit is in calibration and when a holiday is detected, the company says. Moreover, headphones can now be used in noisy environments that drown out the normal audio signal.
The product comes packaged with the instrument, batteries, 15-foot ground cable, 18-inch wand with 6-foot cable, sponge electrode, 4-oz. bottle of “water wetter,” and instruction manual.
According to the product specifications, this model meets the requirements for NACE RP0188, as well as ASTM and ISO standards.
