Anti-corrosion coatings maker Denso North America (Houston) has released its Protal 7900HT high-temperature two-part epoxy pipeline coating in a new 1000-ml cartridge.

The new cartridge gives air cartridge spray gun users the option of quickly spraying the coating in the field or shop, according to the company.

Denso North America has released its new Protal 7900HT high-temperature two-part epoxy pipeline coating in a 1000-ml cartridge for air cartridge guns.

The 1000-ml cartridge was designed to help operators save time and money when coating pipe, valves and fittings for small projects through fast and easy setup, minimal material waste and little equipment maintenance, it adds.

Because it uses the same 1000-ml air gun contractors use to spray Protal 7200, operators retain precise control over airflow and fluid pressure right at their fingertips, the manufacturer says.

According to the product specifications, the spray-applied, VOC-free, 100-percent-solids coating is said to deliver high build up to 40 mils in one coat, intermittent service temperature up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit, very low permeability, high abrasion resistance and excellent adhesion.

Moreover, the company says it cures fast to allow quick backfill when applied to hot pipe and does not shield cathodic protection.

Dispensing guns and tips are sold separately.
