Polymer Billed for Low-Odor Paints

Arkema Coating Resins (Cary, NC) has introduced an opaque polymer for use in low-odor interior and exterior architectural coatings.

The new Celocor AF opaque polymer is described as an “ammonia-free solution” that provides superior hiding with excellent tint strength properties, the company says.

The raw material was designed for interior and exterior architectural paints.

With this product, paint and coating formulators can reduce the amount of other raw materials, most notably titanium dioxide, used in their products as well as reduce costs, Arkema notes.

Further, the polymer is compliant with Arkema’s EnVia certification for sustainable formulating ingredients. EnVia certified products have been designed to assist formulators in meeting their sustainability and regulatory goals in their finished products.
