Dutch developer and manufacturer of paint test equipment TQC has announced its release of the first series of the ViscoThinner, a benchtop instrument designed to measure material viscosity during the addition of solvents.

The ViscoThinner offers continuous monitoring of the material viscosity during the addition of solvents and thinners to create supply or RFU viscosity, the company says.

It also allows definitive viscosity analysis at times preselected by the user, providing data relating to shear performance, which is ideal for laboratory and factory applications, TQC adds.

The new ViscoThinner from TQC is designed to measure material viscosity during the addition of solvents in laboratory or production environments.

The instrument is meant to give the user the ultimate control during the viscosity reduction process, according to the company, while also providing useful stability analysis.

The tool comes without spindles, although three are available—one plate and two ball spindles (large and small), which are intended to cover three measuring ranges. They are to be used to determine viscosity of fluids of 0-22 poise, between 0-75 poise, and between 0-350 poise, respectively.

It also features several reading presets: manual, continuous, max hold, time-to-reading and automatic display hold, the company says.

The ViscoThinner is microprocessor-controlled to ensures a higher accuracy and repeatability, according to TQC, which adds that the accuracy is enhanced by the automatic multipoint calibration, for which no dongle is required.
