DeFelsko has introduced an upgraded version of its PosiTest AT-A Automatic Adhesion Tester, according to a company statement.
The manufacturer says the instrument measures the adherence of coatings to metal, wood, concrete and other rigid substrates.
New features of the product include a larger impact- and scratch-resistant color touch screen display with keypad; user-adjustable pull rate, pull limit and hold time; and the ability to record the results as pass/fail as well as the nature of fracture—cohesive, adhesive and glue failures, according to the company.

The product can be connected wirelessly to a smart device using the company’s free app to create and share customized reports. It also allows the user to add images, notes and other items using the camera and keyboard, which can be used to capture a picture of the dolly face.
The company says each PosiTest AT-A compensates for misalignment with a self-aligning actuator, which enables evenly distributes pull-off force on smooth and uneven coating surfaces. The company also says the upgrade product conforms to national and international standards, including ASTM D4541 and ISO 4624.
