The Sherwin-Williams Company Protective & Marine Coatings line has introduced an amine-cured epoxy that the company says is designed for corrosion protection of concrete and steel in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment facilities.

Dura-Plate 6100 has a rapid return-to-service time of 12 hours, according to the company. At 77 degrees Fahrenheit, the product is dry to the touch within 30 minutes and cures for immersion within the 12-hour window. It can be used at temperatures as low as 50 degrees Fahrenheit, the company says.

Dura-Plate 6100 is an amine-cured epoxy designed for corrosion protection of wastewater facilities and has a quick-dry application time, according to Sherwin-Williams.

The product is a low-VOC, spray-applied resinous coating capable of film builds of more than 125 mils in a single coat, the company says. The product enhances the structure of the host substrate as additional coatings are applied, and also reduces the potential for pinholes because of its rapid drying time, according to Sherwin-Williams.

Dura-Plate 6100 is available as an off-white coating and improves light reflectance for easier inspection, the company says. It also provides a high-strength lining for wastewater and sewer collection structures as well as manholes; basins; wet wells; clarifiers; lift stations; influent channels; trenches; pipes; sumps; and digesters.

According to Sherwin-Williams, the product also can be used in power generation facilities; mining; food and beverage facilities; pulp and paper industry; secondary containment; and industrial wastewater treatment.
