Cole is replacing Scott Stinetar, who has held the position of PPG’s vice president, architectural coatings, U.S. and Canada, since 2006. Stinetar is retiring from the company effective March 1, 2016, according to the company.

The company also announced that Ken West, who has been PPG’s director of specialty products in its architectural coating business for U.S. and Canada, was named global vice president of packaging coatings.

“These executives have demonstrated strong performance in delivering growth in their respective businesses,” said Michael McGarry, PPG’s president and CEO. “We look forward to their continued contributions as PPG continues to drive value for our customers, employees and shareholders.”

Ken West will now be global vice president, packaging coatings.

In his new position, Dave Cole is reporting directly to McGarry. West now reports to Viktor Sekmakas, PPG’s executive vice president.

Sinetar’s Corporate Career

According to PPG’s statement, Sinetar joined the company in 1989 when it acquired Olympic paints and stains. He held a number of sales and management positions between the time he joined the company and when he was promoted to his current position almost a decade ago.

Scott Sinetar, who has been with PPG since it acquired Olympic paints and stains in 1989, will retire effective March 1, 2016.

Sinetar was significant in the company’s 1998 acquisition of Porter Paints, PPG said. He also was involved in the North American architectural coatings business of AkzoNobel in 2013.

PPG said Sinetar also oversaw development of its company-owned stores, and helped grow the company’s consumer paint brands in home-improvement centers and retailers.
