ECS2016, devoted exclusively to issues pertaining to corrosion from an owner's perspective, takes place May 5, 2016, in Elk Grove Village, IL.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be available to attendees from some of the presenters.

Technical Topics

The theme of next year’s ECS is “Reliability.” Speakers will present on a variety of topics, such as:

  • Bridges and Steel Structures—including state-of-the-art corrosion mitigation practices and the use of metallizing and galvanizing for those structures;
  • Tank Maintenance—including corrosion mitigation practices for internal lining;
  • Water and Waste Water—including challenges associated with H2S in waste water treatment systems;
  • Coating Concrete Water Tanks; and
  • Corrosion Mitigation at Refineries.

In addition to lectures, exhibitors will be on hand to share their expertise, as well as to discuss products and services.

Additional Information

“Clearly the selection of the presenters was aimed at providing the attendee with practical, technical and fundamental information pertinent to corrosion,” Dr. Mark Kolody, from the NASA Corrosion Technology Laboratory at Kennedy Space Center, said of the 2015 show.

“Overall, the conference provided a wealth of information that is directed not only toward the technical personnel, but also managers and business owners,” he added.

The third annual ECS conference will take place at the Holiday Inn Elk Grove from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Clean surfaces simply don’t rust, and no other product cleans like HoldTight®102.
HoldTight®102 is a wet blasting additive that decreases the water’s surface tension, allowing it to get into the profile of the surface and remove ALL contamination, including salts, acids, abrasives, light oils, and greases. HoldTight®102 leaves behind no film and evaporates with the water, providing a surface that is thoroughly clean and ready for coating, rust-free for up to 72 hours.
