A manufacturer of concrete floor products has introduced a new product designed to reduce scratches and increase the efficiency of diamonds during wet-grinding on new or existing concrete floors.

Prosoco has added First Cut to its Consolideck line. The product helps reduce scratches created during lower-grit diamond tooling steps.

Called First Cut, the product is from Prosoco’s Consolideck line. Applied prior to wet-grinding, the water-based blend of surfactants pulls concrete slurry solids away from the substrate and suspends them, thus preventing them from being reground into the floor, according to the company.

Prosoco said the product reduces time, labor and maintenance, and allows diamonds to more efficiently remove the concrete surface.

First Cut can be used on existing or new concrete and is compatible with the Consolideck line of densifiers, dyes and protective treatments, the Lawrence, KS-based company said.
