New Paint Protects High-Heat Steel

A new high-heat stainless steel paint reportedly will not discolor, chip, crack or peel at temperatures reaching 1200°F, manufacturer Dampney Company Inc. announced.

Dampney Thurmalox 282 Stainless Steel Paint is a one-component silicone coating that adheres to cast and machined metal surfaces, according to the company.


Applications include a wide range of industrial, automotive and consumer products, the company says.

Dampney Company says its new Thurmalox 282 can be used on stainless steel without discoloring, chipping, cracking, or peeling at temperatures up to 1200°F.

Industrial applications include heaters, vents, conveyors, compressors, piping, proces components, turbines and vessels.

The paint comes in aerosol spray cans and quarts or gallons for application by brush or roller.
