A Brazilian architecture firm may have a career in film if design does not pan out.

Studio MK27's new marketing video tells a strange tale of a sleek, modern home and a marriage gone wrong.

The moody four-minute film is narrated by the ex-husband of the main character, Susannah. In it, he blames the concrete, glass and wood structure, called Casa Redux, for the couple's split.

“The project was the catalyst for the end of our marriage,” he says. “I know that now. We were fighting from the beginning.”

‘Either Me or the House’

The narrator says he preferred a neoclassical design, while his ex-wife wanted “straight lines.”

Now, Susannah lives alone in the “hellish house.”

Throughout the video, we see Susannah moving about the home—meticulously placing furniture, caressing its walls, and taking a dip in the pool, among other things.

“It was either me or the house,” the narrator says. “Susannah never had as much passion for me as she now has for those straight lines.”

Casa Redux

The firm says the fictional story was created to show how human relationships can transform and be transformed by architecture, according to reports.

Casa Redux, composed of a slab floor, four programmatic boxes and a slab ceiling, is built just north of São Paulo. It was completed in 2013.

The offbeat video is not the only one to showcase the firm's work. In 2012, Studio MK27 promoted another project by following a cat around.
