New Leaders, Conference for EIFS Industry

On the eve of a rare high-profile symposium, the Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) industry has elected a new president and slate of directors.

The EIFS Industry Members Association (EIMA) Board of Directors has elected William "Bill" Kasik of BASF Corp. Wall Systems as the association's president for the 2014-16 term. Kasik, a longtime EIMA member, also served as president from 2006 to 2008.

Bill Kasik of BASF has returned for a second term as president of the EIFS Industry Members Association.

EIMA also has elected a new board of directors, effective immediately. They are:

  • Vice president/treasurer Rob Bottema, Sto Corp.;
  • Secretary Buck Buchanan, Parex USA;
  • Manufacturing director Mike Murphy, Dryvit Systems, Inc.;
  • Associate member director William Wagner, Dow Construction Chemicals;
  • Director Wes Hotchkiss, L&W Supply; and
  • Non-voting director Dave Neff, Manning Materials.

ASTM Symposium

EIMA is also gearing up for the first EIFS symposium in a generation: "Idea to Impact: How Building Economic Standards Keep you on Track."


Atlantis - EIFS

EIFS have become more popular in commercial applications. One such project is Atlantis, owned by Sun International, in Nassau, Bahamas.

Sponsored by ASTM Committee E06 on Performance of Buildings, the symposium Oct. 5-6 in New Orleans will include session papers on:

  • EIFS Code Requirements, Acceptance and Fire Performance;
  • Energy and Moisture Impact of EIFS Clad Walls;
  • Keys to Durable EIFS Clad Exterior Wall Assemblies; and
  • Continuous Insulation and Impact on Building Performance.
