A new service offers building owners, inspectors, managers, emergency responders and other stakeholders with instant access to the facility’s comprehensive compliance documentation.

The LiveArchive service, from Atlanta-based BuidlingReports, uses a Quick Response (QR) code to provide authorized users with secure access to critical reports and historial compliance data on fire, life safety, security and other vital building systems.

BuildingReports provides a variety of services for digital building compliance reporting.

The LiveArchive label can be placed in multiple locations within a facility, to create redundancy if equipment with a QR Code is moved or replaced. Maintaining the data in a secure off-site location eliminates the risks of misfiled, lost, inaccessible or illegible paper records, according to BuildingReports.

Record Accuracy, Security

“Historically, logbooks were compiled of handwritten entries that couldn’t be verified for accuracy and were stored in an electrical box, which in itself poses a fire hazard,” said Jason Kronz, president and chief technology officer for BuildingReports.

Furthermore, Kronz said, "it was difficult to access and confirm that what you were reading was up to date and accurate."

LiveArchive gives direct information access to local authorities, inspectors and building managers "to ensure property and life safety,” Kronz said.

On-site users of LiveArchive (not pictured) need only a mobile device to access completed reports, the manufacturer says.

Authorized on-site users need only their mobile device to access completed reports. Once the QR Code has been read, LiveArchive opens to all available compliance documentation for that facility. The user selects the desired report for immediate viewing or sharing.
