Sherwin-Williams Expands in Middle East

Sherwin-Williams has opened a new paint manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia as part of a joint venture with housing manufacturer Red Sea Housing Services Company.

The new plant, Premier Paints Company, is a first of its kind in the country and will support Sherwin-Williams' manufacturing, distribution and sales throughout the Middle East, the company announced Friday (May 16) on its Management and Sales Training Program's Facebook page

The plant, headquartered in Jeddah, will manufacture and market decorative and industrial products under the Sherwin-Williams brand.

Founded in 1976, Saudi Arabia's Red Sea Housing Services Company provides various housing and logistics solutions, including permanent and temporary housing complexes for employees of companies that specialize in the oil and gas and mining sectors.

Expanding in the Middle East

Christopher Connor, chairman and CEO of Sherwin-Williams, said, "We thank the Red Sea Housing Services Company for their expertise and support as we embark on this exciting joint venture opportunity to increase the presence of Sherwin-Williams in the Middle East market."

"We look forward to providing superior decorative and protective products to KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) and the rest of the Middle East region," Connor said.

Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, minister of commerce and industry, attended the official opening. Sherwin-Williams plans to increase its presence in the Middle East market.

"I take great pleasure in announcing our joint venture with Sherwin-Williams and the launch of Premier Paints Company in the Middle East," said Amr Abdullah Al Dabbagh, chairman of Red Sea Housing Services Company.

"We are pleased that through this venture we will be able to continue the tradition of introducing innovative products under our business portfolio to our discerning customers," Dabbagh said.
