Coatings Research Group Taps New Chief

Coatings industry veteran Richard Scott has become the sixth executive director of the Coatings Research Group Inc. (CRGI), the international coating manufacturers association based in Cleveland, OH.

Scott succeeds Dr. Jackie Savoca, who retired after serving as executive director since 2000. The change was effective Feb. 1.

Richard Scott has worked for multiple companies in the paint and coatings industry for more than 25 years.

Scott has more than 25 years of experience in the paint industry.

He has held multiple positions in R&D, quality, and sales for The Sherwin-Williams Co., Cook Paint, and BYK. Most recently, he was the North American Business Line Manager - Paint & Coatings for the Instruments Division of BYK Additives & Instruments.

Scott holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace University and lives in the Cleveland area.

Coatings Research Group, Inc., founded in 1956, is an international association of 32 paint manufacturers located across 12 countries dedicated to the sharing of current technical and business information. The group conducts technical and market-oriented research projects, and tests and certifies paint products under its Green Wise certification mark.

CRGI operates an ISO 17025 Accredited R&D Laboratory and an exterior exposure facility.
