D+D 2014 is designed to integrate the technical communities of specifiers, architects, contractors and building owners through their shared interest in building performance and aesthetics. Register here.

Following is the list of conference speakers and presentation times as of Friday (Jan. 24). The updated schedule is available here.

Steven Danielpour, AIA, CCS, LEED AP, the director of specifications at HOK New York, will present "Emerging Sustainable Coating Technologies" from 9 to 11 a.m. May 22 as part of the “Good Practice in Specifying Coatings and Other Finishes” session.

Steven Danielpour

Steven Danielpour is the director of specifications at HOK New York. He will discuss emerging coatings and technologies to meet building needs.

He will focus on new coatings and coating technologies that fulfill the needs of building construction in terms of improved energy performance, regenerative capabilities, prevention of air and water intrusion and sustainability.

Andre Desjarlais, the group leader for the Building Envelopes Research Program at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), will present "Wall and Roof Energy Efficiency" from 9 to 11 a.m. May 22 as part of the session titled “Performance of Air Barriers.”

His presentation will include the types of products used as air barriers, how to test for air leakage on energy performance, and the impact of air leakage on energy efficiency of roofs and walls.

Desjarlais has been involved in building envelope and materials research for 40 years—first as a consultant and, for the last 22 years, at ORNL.

Elizabeth Moss, the associate principal and director of historic preservation at Swanke Hayden Connell Architects in New York, will present "Asphalt Green’s Fresh Face" from 2 to 4 p.m. May 21 as part of the “Assuring the Performance and Restoration Materials and Techniques” session.

Elizabeth Moss

Elizabeth Moss, of Swanke Hayden Connell Architects, will discuss a recoating project on Asphalt Green, a former plant-turned-recreation center.

Her presentation will discuss a recoating project on Asphalt Green, a former asphalt plant now used as a sports and recreation facility in New York City. The project was complicated by repair requirements and the structure’s status as a New York City and National Historic Landmark.
