Rhino Expands with Stucco Acquisition

Rhino Linings Corp. has acquired a San Diego, CA-based, 84-year-old stucco product manufacturer in an effort to expand its building product footprint.

The protective coatings and linings company announced the acquisition of the assets of Expo Industries Inc. Tuesday (Dec. 17).

Expo Industries Inc. manufactures Expo Stucco interior and exterior stucco products, sealers, bonders, patch products and plaster mixes.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The deal will expand Rhino Linings portfolio of building products which includes waterproofing products, spray polyurethane foam insulation, decorative concrete and epoxy flooring systems. 

Acquiring a ‘Leader’

Since it was founded 84 years ago, Expo Industries has become “a leader in the building industry” with products such as GX2 Premium Exterior Stucco and MX3 Scratch and Brown plaster mix, Rhino said in its announcement.

The products have been used in a range of applications including large public structures to commercial developments and homes. In 2013, the company was voted “Vendor of the Year” by the California Building Materials Dealers Association.

Headquartered in San Diego, CA, Rhino Linings is a world leader in protective coatings and linings. The company manufactures and distributes polyurethane, polyaspartic and expoxy coatings and other products.

Under the terms of the agreement, all Expo Stucco products are now available from Rhino Linings.

Additionally, 12 Expo Industries employees joined Rhino Linings' team and will continue manufacturing and packaging operations at Expo’s facilities, located less than a mile from the Rhino Linings headquarters in San Diego.
