The soaring 1,454-feet-tall Empire State Building will be tricked out in lights tonight for a new Halloween treat.

The landmark's first-ever Halloween LED tower light show will kick off at 8:30 p.m. (ET) Thursday (Oct. 31).

A Halloween-inspired light show will adorn the facade of the 102-story Empire State Building tonight.

The skyline spooktacular will be choreographed by internationally acclaimed lighting designer Marc Brickman to a Halloween-inspired soundtrack transmitted from atop the building, according to the Empire State Realty Trust Inc.

It's not the first time the recently retrofitted landmark has been dressed in lights. A Fourth of July light show was hosted earlier this year, and another show was held last November. Still, this is a Halloween first for the icon.

Ways to See and Hear

Ghosts and goblins need not be in New York City to see the show; it will be available via the Empire State Building’s YouTube Channel following the live performance.

The music for the show can be heard via Clear Channel radio stations Z100 and 103.5 KTU. Clear Channel is also a partner for the event.

The owners have also invited fans to use the hashtag #ESBoo on social media channels during the event.

"New York City has the world's most famous skyline, and the Empire State Building is the world's most famous building,” Anthony E. Malkin, CEO of Empire State Realty Trust, told am NY.

“Using our lights and our position on the skyline is an obligation for us, and it makes the city all that much more special," he said.

Other buildings have also celebrated the October holiday by dressing up in costume. A few of them, including an office building dressed as a shark and a house disguised as Harry Potter, can be viewed here.
