Bids for painting the 150,000-gallon tank are due next week.

The exterior will be cleaned and coated with a three-coat epoxy-urethane system.

The tank was previously inspected in 2009, and structural repairs recommended in that report will be completed before coating. The city may elect to hire a coatings inspector to monitor this project.

The city also notes:

  • Cellular equipment located on site cannot be taken out of service;
  • The contractor is required to protect all cellular apparatuses and should clean the surfaces of this equipment using water with a mild detergent, industrial-grade isopropyl alcohol, or acetone;
  • The owner will conduct a coatings inspection 11 months after the project is completed; and
  • Antennas should be protected, but not painted.
