3M, EPD Tout Window Film

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2016

A new window film technology helps to regulate building temperature, reducing heat loss by up to 38 percent, reports product manufacturer 3M and distributor Energy Products Distribution.

The Thinsulate Climate Control Window Film is designed to tackle fade and block out the sun’s heat in the summer while providing extra insulation and comfort to interiors in the colder months, according to the companies.

Released earlier this year, the easy-to-install, patented film can be installed to existing windows—providing a “nearly invisible layer of protection,” the companies say.

EPD adds that the technology is useful for museums and historical sites because it allows for preservation of artwork, artifacts and floor interiors.
