Sarah, church gossip and self-appointed supervisor of the flock’s morals, kept sticking her nose into other people’s business. Few appreciated her advice, but most feared her and kept their silence.
One day, she made the mistake of confronting a new member, George, after seeing his pickup truck parked all afternoon in front of the town’s only bar. “Everyone seeing it there would just know that he was an alcoholic!” said Sarah.
Later that evening, George parked his pickup in front of Sarah’s house and left it there all night.
