A Cub Scout troop was half an hour late to the den meeting. The den mother asked them sternly, “Why are you so late?”
“We were helping an old man cross the street,” said one boy.
“That’s a nice thing for scouts to do,” said the den mother. Then she paused and asked, “But it shouldn’t make you half an hour late. What took you so long”
Said another boy, “Well he didn’t want to go.”
