I recently stopped at a fast-food restaurant, having been lured by a sign touting Fat-Free French Fries.
I was dismayed, however, when the clerk pulled a basket of dripping fries from the greasy fryer and bagged some for my order.
“Just a minute!” I said. “Those aren’t fat free!”
“Yes, they are!” he insisted. “We only charge for the potatoes. The fat is free!”
