My brother-in-law and I were out in a rowboat, trying to get back to shore, when we both lost hold of our oars, and they sank under the water. After a long while, a small boat appeared upstream bearing an Englishman and two ladies with parasols.
Excited, I yelled out, “Could I borrow one of your oars?”
The Englishmen yelled back, “Them’s not oars! One’s me wife, and the other’s me sister!”
