Video: Benefits of Reusing Solvents on Site
Companies are always looking for ways to cut cost without affecting output. Reusing solvents can help save tens of thousands of dollars. For example, if a company uses 50 gallons of solvent per week at an average cost of $7.50 per gallon, its yearly expenditure, including disposal cost, is about $26,960. Reusing the same solvent again and again, however, would reduce the company’s annual cost to only $3,760.
The Sidewinder Model M-2 is a refrigeration machine distiller-reclaimer that can process 5 gallons or less of used solvents per batch. Waste solvents are poured into the standard 5-gallon metal bucket, placed in the chamber, vaporized and re-condensed, making them reusable.

Reducing the volume of hazardous materials on site not only makes for a safer work environment but greatly reduces the chance of liability. Federal law says waste generators have a cradle-to-grave responsibility for safe disposal of these materials. Regardless of who hauls it away or where it is stored, if it is spilled or otherwise causes pollution, the generator is responsible for the cleanup — forever! A reclaimer like the Sidewinder Model M-2 offers an energy-efficient and cost-effective solution for reducing waste, preserving the environment and limiting the risk.
