Spiritual Center Gets Vibrant New Look
Return visitors to the Great Stupa of Dharmakaya in Colorado’s Shambhala Mountain Center will notice a big difference when they come for their next session of prayer, meditation and reflection. That’s because the stunning structure recently received an eye-catching exterior restoration in a bold and colorful palette. Noticing that the building’s painted surface had begun to fade and chalk, Great Stupa volunteers lovingly refreshed it using low-VOC NeverFade Façade Restoration Coatings with Kynar Aquatec.
“You could see how faded [the old paint] was, compared with the new NeverFade,” said Richard Assaly, head painter for the project, who noted how much he appreciated the product’s 15-year, fade-resistance warranty.
APV Engineered Coatings custom-matched 15 rich colors for the project, and volunteers delicately applied them by hand to the detailed surface.
“The product was very easy to apply and went on very smoothly,” Assaly added.
Project manager Bob King said, “We are committed to maintaining this [surface] to the utmost degree of perfection we can, which is why we are so pleased to have this high-quality material.”
