Kelly Services is seeking a Formulation Science, High Throughput Testing Contractor
for our client, a global chemical company, in Midland Michigan. This position is a long term contract position and can be extended indefinitely based on performance and business needs.
Qualified candidates outside the Midland Michigan area must be willing to interview and relocate at their own expense. Target start dates for most positions are 2-3 weeks post interview. Job Summary:
The Formulation Science, H igh Throughput (HT) Contractor will support Coatings testing and business sponsored projects. The Formulation Science, HT Contractor will perform and operate small scale automated formulation, coating, and characterization equipment and standard laboratory equipment such as ovens.
This individual will be a member of a fast moving development team focused on new technology areas.
A high regard for individual and group safety is expected on a continuous and daily basis. On the job training will be provided to the qualified individual.
Primary Responsibilities:
•
Preparation and testing of various formulations using many types of mixing devices and analytical tools.
•
Utilize specific chemical processing software and hardware needed to run several different types of equipment.
•
Inventory management, material preparation, sample production, and testing and reporting of results.
Qualifications:
•
AS or BS degree Chemistry, Chemical Processing Technology.
•
Candidate should have college level courses in Math, Chemistry, Engineering, or similar field.
•
Experience in formulation development and/or testing is highly desirable.
•
Experience with laboratory instrumentation, calibration and upkeep is highly desirable.
•
Ability to work with other technicians, co-ops, and scientists is expected.
•
Good organization skills and oral/written communication skills are critical.
•
Solid computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook are expected.
•
Ability to perform increased physical activity with some lifting up to 35lbs is expected.
•
High regard for individual and group safety is expected.
•
