Laser Sales Manager for Bridge Maintenance, DoT and Contractors

The Company

As the only manufacturer that offers fiber-coupled, compact, mobile, or stationary laser cleaning units, with 20 to 2000 watts of laser power for a wide range of applications, either handheld or automated, we have successfully implemented thousands of systems worldwide and established laser cleaning market leadership with our sole focus and expertise on laser cleaning.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Sales Manager to create long-term, trusting relationships with our customers within the Department of Transportation or General Contractors, especially for laser usage for bridge maintenance work. Laser ablation has been proven to be very successful in bridge maintenance and repair work, due to its clean, operator and environmentally friendly process. Especially in combination with lead contaminated paints, it has huge advantages compared to tradition methods.

The Sales Manager’s role is to develop new business from existing and new clients and actively seek new sales opportunities. Account management responsibilities include developing strong relationships with customers, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders and preparing sales reports. Account Managers answer client queries and identify new business opportunities among existing customers. In this role, you will liaise with cross-functional internal teams to improve the entire customer experience. This position will require travel. If you are familiar with account management software (CRM), have a flair for client communication and understand consumer behavior, and have a lot of experience within the coatings industry and have worked with different state DoT’s or contractors for bridge work, we’d like to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

Sales activities

- Qualify inbound leads from all channels (calls, Salesforce, email, social media, and others…)
- Support the sales efforts by working with existing customers
- Identify, analyze and develop new customer base within the DoT and associated contractors or other specific target markets
- Promote Adapt Laser product range and educate customers in laser cleaning technology
- Perform laser demonstrations on customer sites including equipment set up
- Identify potential customers and new business opportunities via internet search and other methods
- Maintain Salesforce database
- Support future trade shows and seminars to promote Adapt Laser technology

Other activities

- Analyze competition and propose new product requirements based on new technology trends in the market
- Visit customers on a regular basis and work with customers on technical solutions
- Promote new technologies and product improvements to existing customers


- Experience in the paint/coatings industry and in corrosion control
- Experience working with the Department of Transportation or contractors for the DoT
- Having an understanding of general laser technology is an advantage but not a must, we will train candidates accordingly
- 5-10 years of experience with capital equipment sales would be great
- Having experience or understanding of the Value Selling Process
- Excellent written and oral communication and negotiation skills
- Must be a quick learner with a passion to become an expert in the markets served
- Willing to travel approx. 50% of the time
