As part of the Marketing group, this position supports strategic decision-making by providing insight to our markets, customers, and competitors. A Business Analyst is responsible for providing high level support to marketing and upper management with analysis of various business transactional data to determine existing business trends with a main emphasis on developing new pricing strategies, implementing and measuring the impact of these strategies on revenue growth. This position will work closely with pricing and competitive intelligence functions and will contribute to decisions around pricing and customized solutions.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage global NBS Next Strategic Discipline activities including running reports, leading report-outs and conducting training as needed for the global ICS team
  • Analyze market dynamics, pricing trends, market opportunities, operating and sales margins to develop reports, procedures, and tools for continuous improvement efforts
  • Directly support product line managers on special-request and on-going projects and analyses
  • Support product management with monthly analysis of existing transactional level data to identify price/margin erosion, recommending and implementing appropriate strategies to reverse these erosions
  • Independently develop new Excel models, charts and graphs, and procedures as necessary
  • Take initiative in identifying and resolving issues around pricing and margin
  • Conduct special-request projects involving pricing and competitive intelligence
  • Support Product Line Managers (PLM's) with SAP and quoting systems, ensuring pricing data is both current and accurate
  • Evaluate and fix errors in SAP Master data, product hierarchy, Corporate Groups, etc.
  • Conduct regular segmentation analyses to monitor profitability and to identify recommended price adjustments
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of designated markets and trends through reading reports, market research, data manipulation and financial modeling and analysis
  • Prepare strategic analyses in preparation for Annual Strategic and Operating Plans.
  • Create and update comprehensive industry, competitor and customer models including market share, growth projections and trends, Mekko diagrams and market forces


Education and Experience Requirements
  • 1-2 years of relevant professional experience; bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a business-related field


Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated strength in problem solving and analytics and capable of driving insight to action
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to effectively present the organization and its products and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical capabilities
  • Strong customer focus and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • High level of competence with Microsoft Office suite (in particular, advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills) is essential; SAP and Business Warehouse experience strongly preferred.
  • Additional language proficiency is a plus
