Company: SUPERSTRUCTURES Engineers + Architects
Location: NY - New York NY
Posted: 3/17/2023
Salary: N/A

At SUPERSTRUCTURES, we don’t fill positions—we build careers. We’re seeking Project Architects with 5+ years of experience and an interest in the art and science of building envelope restoration.

About SUPERSTRUCTURES

We are a prolific, award-winning E/A firm dedicated to the preservation and renewal of NYC’s buildings and infrastructure.

We work on significant and challenging projects, including courthouses, schools, universities, churches, housing, hospitals, parking structures, and many of New York's most storied landmarks for the region’s premier public, corporate, and residential clients.

Our focus is buildings' “skin and skeleton,” embracing all components of the building envelope and underlying structural systems—facades, roofs, windows, and plazas—and the full complement of materials, from historic terra cotta to high-performance curtain walls.

We consistently produce construction documents that have been called the “Gold Standard” by our clients.

We’re innovators, continually leveraging the latest tools and technology to drive restoration practice into the 21st century.

About You

You are a Project Architect with 5+ years’ experience in exterior restoration, or a closely related discipline.

You have the ability to direct a team that produces construction documents that live up to our industry-leading standard.

Talent, dedication, and passion for building restoration is a must, and we’ll help you build on that foundation.

About the Position

You’ll direct a team of 2 - 4 on multiple, simultaneous projects from inception through completion: investigation, construction documents, bid negotiation, and construction administration, including primary client contact. You'll take on greater responsibility as you gain experience.

You’ll work within a “studio” that offers the dual advantages of a small office environment coupled with access to the centralized resources of a larger firm.

You'll be supported by some of the most sophisticated technology in the profession, including proprietary computer systems and software, advanced photography, reality capture, and image processing, artificial intelligence, digital asset management, and state-of-the-art, non-destructive diagnostic equipment and techniques.

What We Offer

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive salary

• Paid holidays and paid time off

• Medical / Dental / Vision insurance

• 401k with automatic employer contribution

• Transit: monthly unlimited Metro Cards

• Education allowance: build your skill set and advance your career, strengthening the firm as well as your individual abilities.

Mission

Renew the buildings and infrastructure essential to our past, present, and future.

Prestige

Be a part of an acknowledged leader the field, working on significant projects for NYC’s most prominent clients.

Career Development

Mentoring by experts (your colleagues). Continuing education and support for professional registration.

Work-Life Balance

Our 40-hour work week is supplemented by compensation for any additional hours occasionally (but rarely) needed to meet a project deadline.

We are “office centric” but offer a hybrid option that balances the benefits of remote work with those of working in an office (and ours is in an inspiring, landmarked building in the heart of Lower Manhattan).

Tech

Access to the most advanced proprietary software, hardware, and tools in the profession. Help bring the art and science of restoration into the 21st century.

Fresh Bagels on Thursday mornings

Muffins too. And monthly complimentary “Lunch and Learn” seminars.

Location, Location, Location

Our Wall Street home is in the landmarked former Bankers Trust Company Building (Trowbridge & Livingston, 1912). The bright, spacious office on the 25th floor has high ceilings and views of lower Manhattan in four directions. We’re easily accessible via public transportation: the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C, R, W, J, Z, lines all stop within a few blocks of our building. NYC Ferry access at Pier 11 is at the foot of Wall Street and the PATH World Trade Center station is nearby.

If your passion, experience, and skill set align with our areas of practice, this is truly one of the best places you can work.

If you’re excited about this opportunity, please send us your resume, a cover letter with salary requirements, and a few pages of attachments (maximum of 10MB, please) or link to your portfolio that demonstrates your experience and capabilities.
