Carboline is seeking an Inside Technical Service Engineer to work out of their RD&I Facility located in St. Louis, MO. This person will be responsible for providing technical assistance to both internal and external customers on our products and application methods. The main communication will be via phone, email and chat but will also have some in person interaction during trainings and company hosted schools. The support provided could be on any of the Carboline product lines which include coatings, linings and fireproofing products.
Requirements:
4-year Technical Degree or equivalent experience, 0-5 years Technical Service experience. NACE Certified CIP preferred
Essential Functions:
* Experience with the physical properties, characteristics and different methods of product application. * Have thorough understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of various product lines. * Be aware of advantages and disadvantages involved with the application and performance of various product lines. * Represent Carboline on NACE and SSPC committees and subcommittees. * Sales Support
* Will become a technical expert for a pre-assigned product line. * Provide support for sales presentations and sales calls where technical support will be needed at the local level. * Work with sales and initiate new product development, product improvements and modifications. * Act as the contact between Technical Service, Sales, R&D and Marketing. * Provide training and technical sales support for the regional sales personnel and customer/specifier personnel explaining the benefits and efficiencies of the Carboline products. * Responsible for assisting, where needed, sales representatives in recommending coating systems, application methods and writing specifications for specific applications. * Provide competitive technical information to support the sales force. * Complaint Resolution
* Provide assistance as a resource to sales representatives and Regional Sales Managers, after the initial field assessment has been made by the field sales reps. * Work in conjunction with the field sales representatives to develop issue reports. * For complaints that are determined to result from product problems, communicate the issue report to marketing, quality, sales, technical service and other appropriate personnel as required. Responsible for coordinating others to make sure the issue report is brought to a resolution. * Report monthly the status of all open issue reports on product categories assigned to him/her. * Committed to the Company's safety and quality programs.
