GMB is currently seeking a full time Project Architect. The Project Architect role is responsible for collaborating with their project teams in all aspects of project design, construction documentation and field observation.

As a Project Architect with GMB you will:

  • Champion the design throughout the phases from programming to project closeout for a variety of projects in K-12 and Higher Education Markets.
  • Develop project documentation for multiple projects of different scale and type to communicate the contract scope and design intent.
  • Assist in development of programmatic documentation which may include both holistic and detailed design decisions.
  • Prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications to translate code information and constructability objectives.
  • Review and process submittal and requests for information.
  • Assist with construction administration and closeout documentation efforts.
  • Ensure project coordination across multidisciplinary project teams both as a full-service approach and when partnering with sub-consultants focusing on integration and consistency of design intent.
  • Communicate architectural progress and coordinate cross-discipline direction.
  • Focus on accuracy of design team approach and foster team needs for proceeding forward with project direction.
  • Convey project status and progress with Owner meetings ensuring Owner expectations and project documentation reflect one another.
  • Engage with the construction team, promoting a team effort and ensuring project success.
  • Actively participate in an internal Project Architecture & Design team to develop new strategies and best practices to ensure high quality work, sharing knowledge, ensuring discipline quality, and building relationships.
  • May assist with project procurement, alongside the Project Manager, to develop and foster new and current client relationships and clarify project direction and vision.
  • May participate on other leadership and project teams.
  • Thrive in a primarily remote work environment yet have the ability to work in the field or one of our learning hubs as needed.

We might be a great match for each other if you have:

  • Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited college/university
  • 4+ years of experience in an architectural firm
  • Thoroughness in drawing and communicating design
  • Demonstrated proficiency executing architectural details
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Proficiency in Revit. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

  • Architectural registration, completed or in-progress
  • Passion for Education Market. Experience with the K-12 and Higher Education markets is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of design, construction methodology, architectural building systems and material application
  • Familiarity with specification writing
