Architect Director

Our client is seeking a broadly experienced, highly-skilled Senior Architectural Project Director with specific experience in Justice Facilities, for immediate employment in either of our design studios in Wilmington, Delaware or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Our client continues to grow, with exciting opportunities for experienced project managers to lead dynamic teams of professionals making meaningful impacts on significant projects in the mid-Atlantic region!

Qualified candidates will possess a passion for the profession, a strong desire to always strive for improvement, and a talent for leading dynamic design teams on complex projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Ability to lead business development efforts, including prospective client development, proposal preparation, and interviews.

Effective daily project management of communications, coordination, document production, and project team members, developing effective solutions in conjunction with project team members.

Develop project team hourly workplans and deliverable milestones that specifically correlate to design fee, construction budget, and design phase durations.

Lead, and maintain the quality of, the development of schematic design, design development, and construction documents of all project disciplines. Perform detailed product research and prepare project specifications for public bid projects.

Lead and coordinate public bidding efforts with the owner's project representatives.

Perform expert construction contract administration, including shop drawing review, responding to requests for information, preparing supplemental instructions, managing change directives and potential change orders, and performing regular site observations and documentation.

Qualified candidates will possess a talent for consistently effective communication, with the ability to ethically manage project risks in complex circumstances.

Qualified candidates will possess a US citizenship, a minimum of 12 years of experience, working knowledge of Revit 2020, and an ability to lead complex justice-facility projects, from programming to substantial completion.

Architectural licensure strongly preferred, but not required if candidate holds a BArch or MArch from a NAAB-certified architecture school.
