Industrial Paint Manager - Mt. Washington, Ky
This position will ensure that paint processes are stable in terms of quality standards and paint line is maintained running effectively for production. The right candidate will be organized, driven with excellent leadership skills. This individual will support operations understanding lean manufacturing concepts while driving efficiency improvements within the paint department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:




  • Balance manpower and create work schedules to meet production deficiencies.

  • Ensure that paint processes are stable in terms of quality standards and paint line is maintained and running effectively for production.

  • Track production downtime and implement resolutions to production deficiencies.

  • Troubleshoot paint line processes, procedures, projects, tooling, process flows, material specifications, cost savings and improvements.

  • Perform defect analysis using data-based root cause analysis methods to effectively determine corrective actions needed to resolve problems.

  • Implement control processes in paint area.

  • Support implementation of new processes and equipment.

  • Provide production support to include training, developing standardized work and other related process activities to improve overall paint application processes.

  • Establish and maintain technical relationships with paint material suppliers.
    • Manage paint material usage reduction all process areas.

    • Maintain and monitor all Paint department records

    • Interface with production/maintenance personnel, plant leadership

    • Drive continuous improvement in application of Lean Manufacturing to paint process areas with emphasis ins safety measures, labor efficiencies and standardized work.






  • Analyze and control change costs, schedule delays and quality issues over the course of production shifts.

  • Work with maintenance to implement daily PM’s. Manage SPEQDC (Safety, People, Environmental, Quality, Delivery, Cost) indicators for paint production.



QUALIFICATIONS:




  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Business or 5 years of equivalent paint management experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability to build outstanding teams and interface well with all senior management.

  • Excellent attitude to foster a positive environment.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in manufacturing paint production leadership and knowledge of all areas of paint production.

  • Familiarity with paint manufacturing equipment.

  • Experience in manufacturing environments hiring and training associates to support new products and processes.

  • Exemplary verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, 5S and Six Sigma process.

  • Working knowledge of project and/or construction management systems preferred

  • Knowledge of MS Office & Windows operating system
