Praxair Surface Technologies (PST), a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc., a Fortune 300 company that supplies atmospheric, process, specialty gases, high-performance coatings, and related services & technologies is seeking a Sales Manager – Industrial Coating Services. The preferred location for this role will be Chicago, IL, Houston, TX, Pittsburgh, PA or Charlotte, NC.

This position has management responsibility within the North American Industrial Coatings Service sales organization of Praxair Surface Technologies, Inc. Working with significant latitude, this position is responsible for developing and achieving the sales plans to meet short-term and strategic business objectives. This position’s geographic scope is primarily the United States, Mexico and Canada.

This position interacts internally with all departments and levels of the organization and externally with customers and other key business partners. Direct reports consist of all levels of field sales personnel and may include inside sales personnel. This position may also have indirect leadership responsibilities over alternative selling channels such as external sales agents and distributors.

Sales Manager – Industrial Coating Services
  • Responsible for working with business leadership and plant managers to develop the annual sales plan and leading the sales organization to achieve established sales goals
  • Managing the pricing process and the sales budget; and managing the sales team to ensure growth, pricing, collections, and selling expense objectives are met.
  • Utilize CRM to drive and monitor sales activity within the sales group to optimize growth and attracting, developing and retaining a high performing and safe sales force.
  • Conduct staff performance evaluations and annual merit delivery as well as calculate monthly commission payments and administering the sales incentive plan.
  • Participate as needed in joint sales calls with sales team members and maintains close contact with key customers.
  • Monitor the market place to identify new markets and market segments where introduction or modification of service or products would increase sales and more profitably utilize available resources.
  • Provide advice and support to business leadership regarding plans and objectives for present and/or future sales opportunities in order to create conditions for the growth of the business.
