The installation of linings in large-diameter cooling pipes and penstocks is a major investment for hydroelectric and other power plants. The application should be performed in an expedient manner to minimize outage time and should last for many years—20 or more—without the need for maintenance painting. This is important because many hydroelectric plants are located in remote areas. To achieve these goals, planning must be done long before the start of the lining process.
