When it was time for a major fertilizer distribution facility in the Midwest to have its conveyor structure repainted, the owner retained a third-party quality assurance firm to monitor the contractor’s quality control activities and make periodic visits to confirm the quality of the work and the efficacy of the QC plan. This is a good article; it shows how the expertise of a QA consultant can greatly improve upon the QC (and overall quality) of the job, without the costly expense of full time on-site QA.
