Lining Crude Oil Rail Tank Cars to Enhance Service Lives

As crude oil production has increased in North America, more oil has been shipped by rail over longer distances to refineries and processors. This increased hauling need combined with a variety of other factors has created new implications for lining rail tank car interiors. The author will outline steps that owners, operators and applicators can take to ensure that linings are applied properly to prolong lining service lives and reduce the total cost of tank car ownership....
