Anders Voldsgaard Clausen forgot to mention that the longevity of the exterior coatings on the Tunø Knob, Horns Rev 1 and other offshore wind farms in Denmark are due to the base layer of thermal sprayed metallic zinc-15%aluminum alloy. The duplex coating [metallic zinc plus paint] is the key to long lasting, maintenance free corrosion protection in marine environments.
